About

Gary has been riding to work on the back of a dragon for many years. His delicate, highly detailed watercolors have graced the covers of books by such prominent authors as Ursula K. Le Guin, J.R.R. Tolkien, Jane Yolen, Tanith Lee, Mary Edgehill, and Charles de Lint. His work has also been part of illustrated stories, has hung in galleries, and has been purchased by collectors worldwide.

Overview

Gary’s artwork has received numerous awards including three Chesleys, a Hugo nomination, and has been selected for inclusion in Spectrum (best of fantasy and science fiction art) numerous times. He has been honored three times by having his work included in the Spectrum Exhibit at the Society of Illustrators Museum in NYC.

Having fallen in love with the illustrators of the Golden Age and such contemporary artists such as Allen Lee and Brian Froud, his artwork has a style of old world craftsmanship often found in folk and fairy tales.
